Fujimi was founded by Shigekazu Saito and Eiichi Imai in 1948. The Japanese company initially produced wooden ship models and started producing plastic kits in 1961. A wide range of cars in 1/24th scale have been manufactured, including Japanese road cars, sports and racing cars and European supercars, as well as highly detailed sports and racing cars in larger scales (1/12th, 1/16th, 1/20th), but also some smaller models, even cars in 1/64th scale. Fujimi has also released finished model cars in 1/43rd scale, namely diecast models of a Porsche 935 in various racing liveries and several Japanese cars, and more recently resin models of contemporary Ferrari and Lamborghini supercars.
