Masterpiece Automotive Replicas was founded in Hong Kong in 2006. In the following year the company introduced its first 1/87th scale models - detailed replicas of Austro Daimler Cars from the early 20th century. Later some Bugatti racing cars and current and classic American cars were added to the range. These models were distributed by Busch in Europe. Masterpiece was also licenced to produce the Austro-Daimler and Lohner-Porsche cars constructed by Ferdinand Porsche between 1900 and 1923 in other scales. So the company manufactured high quality 1/18th scale plastic models which were sold along with books and DVDs providing information about the original cars, and 1/43rd scale models were made for the Porsche museum in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. Since 2013, the Austro-Daimler models in 1/18th, 1/43rd and 1/87th scale have been available at the shop of fahr(T)raum automobile museum in Mattsee near Salzburg, where several of the original cars are exhibited.
