In the 1970s, the Mexican company McGregor acquired Politoys castings from Italy and started manufacturing reproductions of these models. The range included some of the early 1/41st scale Politoys plastic models of road and racing cars, as well as some later 1/43rd scale diecast models. A few models were issued in specific Mexican liveries, e.g. the Citroën GS as police and fire brigade car, and the Renault 5 as police car. The McGregor name and the manufacturing country were written on the bottomplates of these Mexican-made Politoys models.
