Herpa has been one of the predominating manufacturers producing model cars in 1/87th scale since about 1980. They released their first highly detailed plastic model in 1/43rd scale, a Ferrari F40, in 1989. Two years later the Ferrari 348 tb was added to the range. It features opening doors and bonnet as well as accurate engine and interior detail (→ photo).
