AWM was a German manufacturer of 1/87th scale plastic models based in Selb, Bavaria. The company introduced its first models in 1993 under the name of AMW ("Auto-Modell-Welt"), but changed its name into AWM in 1998, apparently in order to avoid confusion with other brands. On the one hand, the range originally consisted of contemporary European cars and classic VW cars (Beetle and Karmann Ghia). On the other hand, articulated trucks and later buses were also available. The commercial vehicles gradually became the manufacturer's most important products. They were available in many different liveries, including special series for Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia. Production ceased in May 2020.
