Aguti was an Argentinean manufacturer of diecast models in about 1/64th scale. The company was in business from the mid-1970s until the early 1990s. The models were issued with different brand names including "Aguti Toys", "Rapitoy" and "Loden", but the Aguti name is stated on the baseplate of each casting. The first issues were original designs, such as a Ford F-100 pick-up in various versions and the Puelche Iguana, an Argentinean-made buggy built on a Renault chassis, but most models were copies of products by other manufacturers, first Matchbox and later Guisval. In addition to the 1/64th scale models, a 1/32nd scale Mercedes-Benz 608 D truck in various liveries was released in the "Super Aguti" series in the late 1970s.
