After having produced handbuilt models under the name of FDS for 30 years, Francesco De Stasio from Naples launched a new series called Alfa Model 43 in 2003. The range mainly includes Alfa Romeo models from the 1930s to the 1950s, but also Ferrari sports cars from the 1940s and 1950s, both in road and racing versions. The models are made of resin in 1/43rd scale and are very well detailed. The "Artistic Models" sub-range consists of several models with open doors and hoods, which have been made in very limited numbers (less than ten items per issue). In two decades, Alfa Model 43 has released a total of over 250 different models, with production runs per model ranging from 50 to several hundred in the normal series.
