The Yugoslavian company AuroMetal has probably released only one model car: A 1/50th scale diecast model of the Zastava Yugo 45 was introduced by the state-owned manufacturer of metal products based in Subotica, Serbia, in the 1980s. Size and finish of this model car remind of Matchbox or Majorette models. Production ceased when the Yugoslav Civil War broke out in 1991. Aurometal sold the remaining models, parts and distributing rights to the Hungarian manufacturer Metalbox, who sold the models in its own packages. When Metalbox ran out of the original baseplates and wheels, they replaced them by their own parts.
