Thorsten Sabrautzky from Eschenbach in Southern Germany established an online shop for exclusive handbuilt model cars in September 2015 and became a manufacturer of his own in late 2017. His Autopioneer range consists of highly detailed 1/43rd scale resin models of special-bodied luxury cars from the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. The first issue was a streamlined 1935 Mercedes-Benz 500 K made for the Chinese-born businessman Tan Tjoan Keng. It was followed, among others, by Nubar Gulbenkian’s 1947 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith, a streamlined Borgward prototype from 1937, a 1928 Opel Regent, and the Maybach limousine owned by Schuco founder Heinrich Müller, which served as an inspiration for famous toys such as the command car and the turning car. Each model is limited to 50 items, and only two to three new issues per year are released. The models are produced in an unspecified factory located in Western Europe. In 2021, Thorsten Sabrautzky introduced a second product line named Brausi featuring Chinese-made 1/43rd scale resin models.
