Durham Classics was established by Julian and Margaret Stewart in 1980 in order to produce 1/43rd scale handbuilt white metal models and has been run as a full-time operation since 1986. The range mainly consists of classic American cars and vans from the 1930s to the 1950s. The company is located in Oshawa, on the north shore of Lake Ontario, Canada, and has been the only Canadian manufacturer of white metal model cars since the 1980s. The models are made in very small quantities (generally 50 to 250 pieces or less per issue), and besides the regular models Durham Classics is also manufacturing promotional models for Canadian companies and organizations.
