The Blasco company from Barcelona started producing simple 1/86th scale plastic models under the name of Eko in 1956. Most of these models were made from castings by Wiking from Germany or, after 1966, by Anguplas from Spain. The range was very extensive and included several hundreds of cars, trucks, buses and military vehicles. In addition to the 1/86th scale models, a series of classic cars in 1/43rd scale, also based on Anguplas castings, was introduced in the 1960s, 1/160th scale road vehicles and 1/150th scale airplanes followed in the 1970s. After the factory had burned down in 1990, Eko concentrated on selling models from the old stock for some time, but nowadays the company offers again on its website new 1/86th scale models made from the old castings.
