Gonio was a Czech manufacturer of tinplate models. The company was based in the small town of Trhove Sviny in the South of the country and is best known for a series of 1/24th scale military vehicles from World War II issued in the early 1990s. These models are made of tin with plastic parts and are very detailed with opening parts, accurate decorations and realistic proportions. The range included the German VW Kübelwagen and Schwimmwagen, but also vehicles from the Allied Forces such as Dodge WC51 and WC52 and Willys Jeep MB. When the Kaden company took over Gonio some years later, the models remained in production, and several civilian versions of the Dodge and the Jeep were added to the range.
