The Spanish company Guisval was founded in Ibi, Alicante, in 1962 and is producing inexpensive diecast models in various scales. Besides contemporary cars in 1/24th, 1/32nd, 1/37th and 1/43rd scale, classic cars in 1/43rd and 1/55th scale, motorbikes and construction vehicles, Guisval has offered an important range of diecast modelcars in about 1/64th scale since the late 1960s. Originally the quality was similar to products by competitors such as Majorette or Matchbox, and like these two companies Guisval introduced thin axles and one-piece plastic wheels in order to improve the free-rolling ability in the 1970s. The Guisval models introduced after the early 1980s are slighty simpler than the earlier models. Copies of Guisval models were made in Argentina by Ruestes and Aguti.
