The origins of the Chinese manufacturer Jadi Modelcraft date back to the 1990s. After the Italian producer Giodi had gone bankrupt in 1993, some of its models continued to be made in China, now under the name of Jaditoys. Towards the end of the decade, the company released its first own designs, made of diecast in 1/43rd scale: rally and touring cars from the 1999 season, the Le Mans winning BMW V12 LMR from the same year, a BMW Z8 roadster and a New Mini Cooper. This series was not extended in the following years, but Jadi Modelcraft focused on 1/18th scale models of British sports and luxury cars and of (mainly contemporary) BMW cars. In 2011, the company introduced the Paragon brand name for 1/18th and 1/43rd diecast models, under which most of the more recent products are now marketed. Many of these have been commissioned by the car industry, namely by BMW.
