The family business Käthe Wohlfahrt was founded by Wilhelm and Käthe Wohlfahrt in 1964 and specialized in selling Christmas items. Since 1977, the company has run a shop in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, other stores in other German cities as well as in Riquewihr (France), Bruges (Belgium) und Stillwater (USA) followed. A model of the "Christmas Express", the Asquith minibus owned by the company, has been manufactured exclusively for the Käthe Wohlfahrt stores since 2008. The diecast model in about 1/64th scale is made rather simple in the style of Lledo and early Oxford Diecast miniatures, but body shape and decoration are authentic.
