Kado from Japan made several diecast model cars, mostly in 1/43rd scale. In the late 1970s and early 1980s the company commissioned Tomy, another Japanese toy manufacturer, to produce models for them. Most of these models based on existing dies and tools used for the Tomica Dandy range. However, Kado also released other models, e.g. a series with Japanese saloons from the early 1960s (Prince Skyline, Nissan Cedric, Toyopet Crown, Isuzu Bellel) in about 1/43rd scale in the style of the models from those days made by Cherryca Phenix, Model Pet and Micro Pet, another series with several Porsche sports cars in 1/43rd scale, Dome prototypes and racing cars in 1/28th and 1/40th scale, and a promotional set for a magazine consisting of models in about 1/64th scale based on a Isuzu van from Tomy’s Tomica range.
