From 1987 to 1992, the electromechanical plant in Kostroma, 300 kilometres northeast of Moscow, produced a 1/43rd scale diecast model of the MAZ 503A dump truck. The same truck model had already been manufactured by the ZEMZ factory in Zagorsk since 1982 before the production was moved to Kostroma. Quality and finish are similar to truck models made by other contemporary Soviet manufacturers such as Elecon, Electropribor, or Arsenal - the MAZ 503A model is quite heavy and features movable parts.
