The Leningrad factory for metal haberdashery and souvenirs in the city of Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) started manufacturing diecast model cars in 1977. Most models were copies of 1/43rd scale Politoys products from Italy: Alfa Romeo Giulia SS, Fiat 500 Giardiniera, Ford Cortina, Innocenti IM3. But the factory also released a 1/24th scale model of an Izh Jupiter motorcycle with sidecar. The logo on the box and on the bottom of the models is a Kyrillic L, looking similar to the Latin letters "JC". In the 1970s and 1980s, the models were distributed by the Novoexport company, along with other Soviet remakes of Western European model cars and models of Russian original cars.
