The American company Lindberg was founded by Paul Lindberg in 1933. He created a line of balsa airplane models. After World War II, Lindberg helped develop injection molded plastic model kits and offered a line of airplanes, boats and cars. A wide range of car models was made in 1/20th, 1/24th, 1/25th and 1/32nd scale. In the 1960s and 1970s, Lindberg also produced the Mini Lindy series of small plastic model kits. There were more than 30 vehicles in this series, including cars, trucks and commercial vehicles in 1/64th scale and smaller. The models were sold in small picture boxes containing plastic parts, metal axles, screws and weights, instruction sheet and decals. In 2013, Lindberg was taken over by Round 2, a company which had already acquired other American kit makers with a long tradition such as AMT and MPC before.
