Luso was a range of diecast and plastic model cars made in Portugal, introduced in 1976. The diecast model range included several contemporary road cars in 1/43rd scale (e.g. Citroën GS Break, Ford Capri and Opel Kadett Coupé) and touring cars in the same scale. The 1/43rd scale plastic model range focused on racing cars (Lola T 292, Lancia Stratos, Porsche 917-30), and the "Luso Junior" range consisted of other racing cars (Alpine A441, Alfa Romeo 33TT12, Matra MS680, Ferrari 312 PB) in a smaller scale. The 1/43rd scale models were also available in kit form. In the 1980s, Luso bought diecast bodies of 1/43rd scale models made by Gama from Germany, and added their own baseplates in order to complete the models. These models were mainly sold in Portugal and Spain.
