A range of inexpensive diecast models made in Hong Kong, Macau and China since the late 1970s was marketed under the MC Toy name. These models were the predecessors of the Maisto models. The range consisted of toy cars in 1/36th to 1/48th scale with pull-back action, as well as of 1/64th scale models. In this scale many contemporary European cars were modelled. In the late 1980s models in 1/18th and 1/24th scale were also added to the range, and the brand name for all products was changed into Maisto.
