MTH (Mike's Train House) was founded in 1980 by Mike Wolf in Columbia, Maryland. The company originally began as a mail order toy train retailer before establishing itself as a model railroad manufacturer of classic tin-plate reproductions from the first half of the 20th Century. In addition to model trains, the company diversified into manufacturing model railroad accessories, including diecast models of commercial vehicles: a classic fire engine was added to the catalogue in 2005, the Silverside bus (GMC PD 4151) from the late 1940s as operated by Greyhound Lines already in 2001. Both models are in 1/50th scale, thus still matching 0-gauge railway layouts, and were commissioned from Corgi. In addition to the buses, MTH has also released a 1/50th scale plastic model of a Greyhound bus station.
