Migros, Switzerland's largest supermarket chain, has commissioned several model cars which were exclusively available at Migros stores. A 1/45th scale model of the first Migros truck used as a mobile supermarket in 1925 was released in 1985 for the company's 60th anniversary. Two years later, Migros introduced a 1/24th scale model of the MEV 1, a solar car built for Migros by the Swiss companies Autophon and BBC, which ran in the 1986 "Tour de Sol" solar race. Both models are rather crude and were made in Hong Kong. While the solar car has got no indication of the manufacturer at all, the baseplate of the truck names Kees as producer. During the "Suisse Mania" sales promotion in autumn 2015, when small plastic models of Swiss landmarks were given to customers in Migros stores, there were four particular days on which Migros also offered vehicle models in small scales: a Migros mobile shop from the 1980s, a classic Swiss post bus, a car of the Monte Generoso rack railway and the Lake Lucerne steamboat "Schiller". Both road vehicles feature turning wheels and a sound chip; when pressing a button, the mobile shop plays the Migros promotional jingle, while the post bus sounds the typical three-tone horn.
