Plásticos Lido was a Peruvian manufacturer of plastic products. In the 1960s and 1970s, the company produced some simple and inexpensive big-scale toy vehicles, including a generic truck and a model of the VW Beetle. The Beetle model, which represents the version as built in Brazil and exported to other South American countries since 1959, was made by blow moulding instead of the more common process of injection moulding. Body and chassis thus form a single hollow plastic unit. Similar models were also made by other contemporary Latin American manufacturers of plastic toys.
