The German company Premium ClassiXXs was founded by Peter Brunner and Thomas Roschmann, formerly CEO and marketing director of Schuco, in 2002 and introduced its first scale models for collectors under its own name in the following year. The range consisted of detailed diecast models of classic German cars in 1/12th and classic commercial vehicles in 1/43rd scale, which were made in China. In addition to the diecast models, the "Unique Edition" series with limited edition 1/43rd scale resin models of unusual classic cars and commercial vehicles was introduced in 2006. The manufacturers NZG (trucks and construction vehicles in various scales), Bub (1/87th scale diecast models) and Y-Serie (1/35th scale models of German army vehicles) belonged to the same group of companies as Premium ClassiXXs. The group was taken over by the German mail order business Model Car World in 2012. A range of 1/87th scale plastic models referring to the Premium ClassiXXs brand was introduced by Model Car World under the name of PCX87 in 2020.
