Riku stands for Riva + Kunzmann, a Swiss toy distributor based in Bubendorf. The company was already established in 1895 and temporarily imported models made by Dinky Toys, Solido, Brumm and other model car manufacturers. Today, Riku distributes inexpensive diecast models of Swiss post office vehicles under its own name. These Chinese-made models are in various scales and mostly feature opening parts and pull-back action. The range namely consists of a VW Beetle and a T2 bus in about 1/36th scale based on Welly models, a Mercedes-Benz O 3500 post coach from the 1950s in 1/55th scale (not a realistic model, since Swiss Post still only used buses from domestic manufacturers at that time), an articulated truck in 1/87th scale and a modern post bus in 1/60th scale without any specified prototype, combining design elements of various buses actually operated by Swiss Post (Mercedes-Benz Citaro, MAN Lion's City, Hess Swissdiesel).
