Stahlberg was a Finnish company producing plastic promotional models for the Swedish car makes Volvo and Saab. The company was in business in the 1970s and 1980s and modelled almost the entire range of contemporary Volvo and Saab cars in 1/20th scale. There were also models of the Mercedes-Benz 200 T and of the first Volvo car, the ÖV 4 "Jakob" from 1927, the latter released for the 60th anniversary of the car make. Stahlberg wasn't the only Finnish manufacturer of big scale plastic models: Nyrhinen, Arean and JuJu had made similar models already in the 1960s and early 1970s, and the last 1/20th scale Saab and Volvo promotional models were introduced from the late 1980s on by Emek. This company, founded in 1981, had taken over Stahlberg, but specialized into 1/25th scale truck models in the early 1990s. Some of the moulds for the car models were sold to Russia and to Estonia in the 1990s. In Estonia, the Norma company subsequently produced several models from these moulds.
