Sunnyside was a manufacturer of inexpensive diecast toy and collectible model cars in various scales, established in Hong Kong in 1979. The first models were contemporary European and American sports cars in 1/35th to 1/43rd scale featuring opening parts and pull-back action. Production was moved from Hong Kong to Guangdong province in China in 1986. Later Sunnyside also added larger models to its range and focused on classic American and European cars as well as modern Japanese cars, either with free wheeling or pull-back action. The company went out of business around 2016. Early Sunnyside models were marketed under various brand names, according to the country and the local distributor: e.g., "Superior Racers" in the USA and Canada, "Midnight Die Cast" and "Chad Valley" in the United Kingdom, "Playbear" in Germany, and "Onoeman" in Japan.
