David Roots from England has created a range of 1/43rd scale resin models under the name of "The Essence Of The Car" since 1996. All master models, the necessary moulds and the finish of the models are made in house by hand. Due to the limitations of domestic model making, David's idea is to capture just the raw shape of the cars, without further going into details. Hence, the final products look like sculptures and remind of the original clay models that the vehicle manufacturers make as part of their development programmes. The range comprises a wide range of models, including unusual subjects such as aerodynamic prototypes from the 1930s, concept cars, special-bodied Bentleys and Saabs, sports cars and record breakers, as well as classic and modern cars not yet modelled by major manufacturers.
