Thomas Built Buses is an American bus manufacturer based in High Point, North Carolina, and a subsidiary of Daimler Trucks North America, the parent company of Freightliner. The company is specialized in school buses. Around 2007, Thomas Built Buses released three diecast models in 1/54th scale as promotional items, which could be ordered from their website: A classic Saf-T-Liner ER as introduced in the 1970s, its successor Saf-T-Liner HDX, and the modern Saf-T-Liner C2. The models do not feature any interior detail: The windows are part of the body casting and simply painted in black or dark grey. But proportions and body details are quite accurate. Each model was available in different colour schemes.
