Tokoloshe is an Italian brand of rather low-priced 1/43rd scale handbuilt models. It was launched in the late 1990s by Umberto Codolo, who had already produced kits and built models under the Remember name since the 1980s. The brand name refers to a dwarf-like spirit in Zulu mythology, and the first model of the series is also related to South Africa: an Alfa Romeo Alfetta Group 2 as driven by Arnold Chatz, a local dealer of Alfa Romeo and other Italian cars, on the Kyalami racing track in 1976. The model is based on a diecast model by Progetto K. In 2001, Umberto Codolo started manufacturing resin models under the Tokoloshe name. Over 25 different models have been released in the following two decades, mostly racing cars by Ferrari and Porsche from the 1950s to the 1980s. However, the range also includes a VW Beetle pick-up in a racing livery and a Peugeot 203 van.
