Touchwood Models was established in 1986 by Stuart and Rita Delf. The British company based in Norwich originally produced 1/3rd scale MG TD and Jaguar XK120 pedal cars, but soon focused on models of water and land speed record breaking vehicles. A 1/12th scale model kit of Blue Bird K4, Sir Malcolm Campbell's powerboat, was released in 1995, followed by Blue Bird K3 and Bluebird K7. A wide range of land speed cars and water speed boats, which were sold ready-made or in kit form, exist in 1/43rd scale. Touchwood Models also introduced 1/76th scale built models of Donald Campbell's Bluebird K7 powerboat; these were mainly aimed at the tourist market in Lake District, where Donald Campbell had set most of his records. Besides scale models for collectors, the company also built wind tunnel models for the water speed record challenging Quicksilver project. After several years of only selling kits and no longer assembling finished models, the company went out of business in 2024.
