The Australian company Trax originally produced model railway accessories, but they diversified into 1/43rd scale models of Australian cars in 1986. Their first model was a 1950s FJ Holden, followed by Holdens and Australian built Ford Falcons and Chrysler Valiants from the 1960s and 1970s. More recently commercial vehicles were introduced under the "Trux" label. These include a range of 1/76th scale model buses (partly sourced from EFE) and 1/64th scale articulated lorries. A few highly detailed 1/24th scale cars have also been released by Trax, and in 2005 the "Opal Series" of 1/43rd scale diecast models with many opening parts was introduced. Later Trax models are no longer made of diecast, but of resin.
