Tahiti
On the island of Tahiti in French Polynesia, one company has manufactured model cars:
Plastiserd, founded in the island's capital of Papeete in 1977 and mainly producing plastic packagings, released a model of a typical Tahiti island bus built on a truck chassis (called "Le Truck"). It is a 1/43rd scale plastic model based on the Renault J model by Norev and existing in many different colour combinations. White panels with the indication of different destinations all over the island are applied on both sides of the body. The models were mainly sold in souvenir shops.
