Swedish toy distributor Gösta Norén started producing 1/43rd scale diecast models of the Volvo PV 444 in Gothenburg in 1957 under the brand name of Lenyko. Later the models were also marketed under the name of Geno, after the company owner's initials. Both versions use the same body, but different baseplates: While the bottom of the Lenyko model is smooth and made of tin, the Geno base is made of diecast and more detailed, with embossed engine underside, drive train and indication of manufacturer and country of origin. Production ceased in summer 1963, when the factory was destroyed by a fire.
