The German manufacturer Faller, otherwise mainly specialized in model train accessories, entered the market of highly detailed plastic models in 1/43rd scale in 1992. Their first model car, a Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Convertible, features opening doors and bonnet and even movable blinds (→ photo). Like Herpa and Revell, Faller dropped its high tech range after a few years because the production was too expensive.
