ALO Busmodelle was founded in Vienna in 2003 by Alexander Olajos, a skilled goldsmith, and manufactured handbuilt models of buses in 1/87th scale. The range focused on city and intercity buses from Austria, and only Austrian-made vehicles were reproduced. With the exception of a VW T5 minibus with Kutsenits body from 2005, all original vehicles are from before 1990; several buses from before World War II were also made. The models are made of resin with photo-etched parts and are highly detailed. They were available directly from the manufacturer on pre-order. Shortly before Alexander Olajos retired in late 2023, the last model to appear was a Gräf-Steyr as a Vienna city bus from 1978.
