Detailed 1/43rd scale resin model cars have been manufactured under the Automodello name in China since 2009. The range was initiated by Jim Cowen, owner of the American online diecast retailer Diecasm LLC, and Raffi Minasian, who designs and crafts the prototypes of the models. They concentrate on classic sports cars which have been overlooked by mainstream diecast model manufacturers so far. Their first release was the TVR Griffith 200, followed by the Bricklin SV-1. The models are made in very small quantities of 200-400 pieces per issue. Besides the standard issues, there is a "Founder's Edition" featuring models in different colours and an autograph of the designer of the corresponding original car on the presentation plinth.
