Since 1995 the German company CMC has been producing high quality diecast model cars in China. The first models were in 1/24th scale, but later 1/18th and 1/12th scale models were added to the range. All models are highly detailed, and they feature many movable parts and, in most cases, leather interiors. CMC has mainly modelled classic Mercedes-Benz cars and other historic sports and racing cars. In 1/43rd scale two truck models have been released: a Chinese Jiefang truck was made in the 1990s, a model of the 1954 Mercedes-Benz racing truck followed in 2003.
