Fifties was the name of a range of 1/18th scale tinplate models made in Tokyo in the mid-1980s. The models are made in the style of tinplate cars from the 1950s, albeit with some more modern details such as plastic interiors and clear plastic parts for headlights and rearlights, and they are friction-powered. The range concentrated on American prototypes from that era, each made in various colours and body styles: 1950 Cadillac and Buick, 1953 Chevrolet Corvette, 1956 Ford Thunderbird. Soon after the release of the Fifties models from Japan, cheaper copies made by an anonymous Chinese manufacturer were also available.
