In 1974, the American shaving products company Gillette diversified into diecast toy cars made in Argentina. The range was called Jet and was only produced for the closed national market. It comprised various passenger, sports and racing cars, prototypes and a Ford F-350 pick-up truck, all in about 1/64th scale. The quality of the models is rather good, they feature metal bases, suspension and sometimes opening parts. One of the most popular items was the Brabham BT44 Formula 1 car as raced by Argentinean driver Carlos Reutemann. Production already ceased in 1979, but the moulds of eleven Jet models were taken over by Buby, who reissued them in their "Mini Buby" series.
