Rein Rammus from Tallinn in Estonia started to make model cars from paper and card under the Kit Toys name as a hobby in the 1980s. Originally the models were in different scales, later Rein concentrated on 1/60th scale. Since 2002 he has been making 1/43rd scale models of rare and extraordinary VW cars. The range includes special versions of T1 and T2 buses and campers (also from Brazil), coachbuilts like the Rometsch and Beutler coupés and cabriolets, prototypes and other types which haven't been modelled by large manufacturers so far. The bodies and interiors are made from paper and card, the wheels are plastic with rubber tyres. The models are mostly made to order or sold directly by the manufacturer on eBay, but some of them have also been available from the Budig model car shop in Berlin since 2008.
