The Brooklin company, a leading British manufacturer of handbuilt model cars, launched a series of 1/43rd scale white metal models of British cars from the 1930s to the 1970s under the Lansdowne name in 1993. The series was named after Lansdowne Road, which leads to the city of Bath, where the models are produced. In addition to the Lansdowne models and the Brooklin main range, which consists of models of classic American cars and has existed since the end of the 1970s, the company has introduced other model series over the years, e.g., RobEddie (Swedish cars, from 1989) or U.S. Model Mint (American trucks and cars, from 1992). The models are carefully hand-finished, and the production run for a model over a five year period rarely exceeds 3000 units.
