The Leo company from India was partially owned by Mattel and started producing models from the Hot Wheels range for the Indian market in the mid-1980s, using the original tools. The series notably consisted of various contemporary compact cars: Chevrolet Monza and Citation, Ford Escort, Fiat Ritmo, VW Golf, and a Renault 5 Le Car model that was sold by Leo as a Maruti. However, classic and sports cars, buses, motorhomes, Hot Rods and other vehicles were also part of the range.
