In 2010, Lionel Racing, a division of the well-established American model railroad manufacturer Lionel, started producing officially licenced diecast models of cars from the NASCAR racing series. The company has its headquarters in Concord, North Carolina, but the models are made in China. Lionel Racing has maintained the brand names introduced by Action Performance in the 1990s when that company held the licence to produce NASCAR diecast models: "Action Racing Collectables" and "Racing Collectables Club of America" (RCCA). Most models are 1/24th or 1/64th scale, but there is also a range of 1/87th scale models. All models feature authentic decorations, and they are often available already a few weeks after the race of the original car.
