Mimo is a Brazilian manufacturer of children's toys based in Guarulhos near São Paulo. The company was founded in the 1950s by brothers Sergio and Elias Assum Sabbag and is best known for its dolls, plastic figurines, and games. After a break in the 1990s, when Mimo limited itself to importing household and gift items due to an unfavourable exchange rate of the Brazilian real, toy production resumed in 2004. In the 1960s and 1970s, Mimo also offered simple plastic models of contemporary Brazilian cars in various scales. The length of the larger models is about 16 to 20 cm; the smaller models are 5 to 8 cm long, which corresponds to scales between 1/60th and 1/90th, and consist of only three parts: a body made of blown plastic, and two plastic axles with cast wheels. The small models were also available as accessories to a plastic petrol station.
