Muovo is the Finnish word for plastic. In the 1950s and 1960s, this name was stamped on the bottom of plastic surprise toy cars in candybags by the Finnish confectionery companies Chymos and Panda. The oldest series comprised eight road cars in 1/87th scale. It was followed by various series of road, racing and record cars in larger scales, first in 1/60th and later in 1/50th scale. Four classic cars inspired by the "Models of Yesteryear" series by Matchbox were also released as surprise toys. The models are very simple, but unlike the smaller earlier issues, the 1/50th scale road cars released in the 1960s feature clear plastic parts for the windows.
