Plomur was founded in Uruguay around 1965 and manufactured 1/43rd scale model cars until the early 1980s. The models are rather crude, but very heavy, because they are made of lead (so it has to be assumed that they were designed as adult collectors' items and not as children's toys). The best known model is a Chevrolet Chevy SS Coupé, produced around 1975 and available in blue/black, red/black, police, Red Cross and army version. A Chevrolet Camaro has also been modelled by Plomur in 1/43rd scale.
