Progress, a toy factory based in Moscow, was one of the first Russian manufacturers of 1/43rd scale diecast model cars. In 1973, the company introduced models of the ZAZ 966 and the Lada 2101 in this scale, the Lada being a copy of the Fiat 124 model by Mercury from Italy. Furthermore, Progress manufactured other diecast and plastic copies of Western European model cars as well as a 1/50th scale ZIL lorry made of plastic. Most models feature opening parts, but quality and finish don't reach the level of the models made in Saratov by Radon and Tantal.
