The Winross company, located in Churchville, New York, started manufacturing diecast toy trucks in the early 1960s and evolved into producing truck models for clients to use in their corporate communications. By 1978, the company had abandoned all retail sales and focused on promotional models in 1/64th scale. Winross trucks are thus not available at retail, but individual collectors can order the models by mail directly from the manufacturer, through the Winross Collectors Club or from specialized dealers. Hundreds of different models have been made, all quite well detailed with many diecast parts, rubber tyres, suspension, authentic fleet colours and fine graphics. Along with the Penjoy company, which offers a similar product range, Winross is one of the last manufacturers still producing diecast models in the USA.
